Chocolate Fudge Frosting
An ultra-rich, glossy chocolate frosting made with real chocolate, cocoa, butter, and cream for cakes, cupcakes, and brownies.
Real melted chocolate gives this butter-based frosting its deep flavor and glossy, fudgy texture. The recipe makes about 4 cups.

Instructions
- 1
Put the chocolate chips in a microwave-safe bowl. Add the corn syrup and heavy cream, then microwave in 30-second intervals, stirring after each, until completely melted and smooth. Let cool for 10 minutes.

Meanwhile, beat the softened salted butter in a large bowl with a hand mixer until creamy, about 2 minutes. Add the cocoa powder and vanilla and beat until combined.

- 3
Beat in the powdered sugar 1/2 cup at a time, mixing well after each addition. Scrape the sides and bottom of the bowl so everything is evenly combined.
- 4
Add the cooled melted-chocolate mixture to the creamed butter. Mix on medium speed until smooth and fudgy, 30 to 60 seconds.

Ago's Notes
- Let the melted chocolate mixture cool for the full 10 minutes so it does not melt the whipped butter.
- Use softened, not melted, butter and scrape the bowl thoroughly between additions.
The finished frosting should be smooth, thick, glossy, and easy to spread.
