Puff Pastry Pinwheels with Salmon (only 4 ingredients!)

Ingredients

  • 1 rolle blatterteig
  • 3.3 oz krauterfrischkase
  • 6.7 oz raucherlachs
  • 1 Egg yolk
  • Dill

Instructions

  1. 1

Preheat the oven to 200 degrees (top and bottom heat) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

  2. 2

Roll out the puff pastry and spread it completely with the cream cheese. Distribute the smoked salmon evenly over the top.

  3. 3

Roll the dough tightly from the long side.

  4. 4

Cut the roll into 0,5-1 cm wide pinwheels with a very sharp knife. Place them on the baking sheet with some space between them and brush the tops with beaten egg yolk.

  5. 5

Bake for about 20 minutes, until the salmon pinwheels are golden brown and crispy. Garnish with fresh dill, if desired, and enjoy.

Ago's Notes

  • Adjust the salt to taste, depending on the salt content of the ingredients.

Let your hands work their magic as you shape the pinwheels - the balance of fat, salt, and smoke will show you why this creation, made with just four ingredients, unfolds so much flavor.

French Fish Pie

Recipe video above. This is a homestyle fish pie I like to make for Easter, one of my mother used to make for us. Chunks of white fish fillets slowly poached in creamy béchamel with fennel, leek and fresh dill then topped with mashed potato and baked until golden. Don't be surprised that it doesn’t call for a homemade fish stock, you’ll still get plenty of flavour from the fish itself and the fresh herbs.

Mantuan cake

It's called Mantuan cake, yet it's produced in Prato (and elsewhere). It's a much-loved traditional Italian dessert because its secret lies in the ingredients that make it perfect at any time of the day: as a breakfast treat, for a tasty snack, or at the end of any meal.
